Loci

Terms of Service

Last updated: July 4, 2026

The short version: your trips and photos stay yours, you choose what's public, don't use Loci to harm people, and you can delete everything whenever you want.

Accepting these terms

By creating an account or using Loci — the app or joinloci.app — you agree to these terms. If we change them in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and let you know in the app or by email before the change applies. You need to be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age for digital consent where you live) to use Loci.

Your account

You sign in with your email, Apple, or Google account and pick a unique handle. Keep access to that email or provider account safe — it is how you get in; there is no password to recover. You're responsible for what happens under your account. One person per account, and don't impersonate anyone with your handle or display name.

Your content

Trips, stops, photos, and profile details you create are yours. So you can actually use the product, you give us permission to store them, resize photos, render them into maps and share images, and — for trips you set to public or unlisted — display them to the people you share them with or to visitors of your public profile. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account. We don't claim ownership and we don't use your content for advertising or AI training.

Visibility is your call

Every trip has a visibility setting: private (only you), unlisted (anyone with the link), or public (on your profile and shareable). Content you make public or share is, by design, visible to others — and links you send can be forwarded. Think before you share a map of somewhere you don't want known.

Acceptable use

Don't use Loci to harass, stalk, or expose others — including uploading photos of people or their locations without their consent. Don't upload content that's illegal, infringing, or hateful. Don't scrape, spam, probe, or overload the service, and don't try to get around visibility rules or access other people's private data. We can remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

The service

Loci is provided as-is, without warranties: it's a young product and things will occasionally break, change, or be discontinued. We're not liable for indirect damages or lost data beyond what applicable law makes unavoidable — export or back up anything you can't afford to lose. Map data and geocoding come from Mapbox and inherit its accuracy limits.

Ending things

You can delete your account any time in the app (Settings → Delete account); it permanently removes your data, as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, and we'll tell you why unless the law prevents it.
